View ServiceDemolition and excavation services in Sydney — which one do you need?
Most projects need more than one of these services, and the right combination depends on what you are building next. Here is how they fit together.
Clearing a whole house or building
A full knockdown is residential demolition for homes, garages, granny flats and pools, or commercial and industrial demolition for retail, office, warehouse and factory sites. It usually includes removing the slab and footings so the next builder starts on a clean block.
Keeping part of the building
If the structure is staying and only part of it is coming out — an upper storey, a rear extension or a load-bearing wall — you need structural or partial demolition, carried out to an engineer’s methodology with temporary propping. If only the interior is going, a strip out takes the building back to its base structure, and a commercial strip out covers offices and end-of-lease make goods.
Asbestos
Any Sydney building built or renovated before 1990 may contain asbestos. Asbestos removal is usually the first step of a demolition or strip-out, followed by a clearance inspection before work continues. Because we are licensed for both, it is handled within the same program.
Getting the site ready to build
Once the structure is gone, excavation and haulage cuts the site to level, removes the spoil and brings in clean fill where needed — so the block is handed over ready for the slab.

Demolition and Excavation Sydney: One Contractor, One Program
Most building projects in Sydney need more than one site-preparation trade. A knockdown rebuild needs asbestos removal, demolition and a site cut. A commercial redevelopment needs a strip out, demolition and bulk earthworks. Having one demolition and excavation contractor do all of it means one quote, one program, one set of paperwork and no gaps between contractors waiting on each other.
