Strip Outs In Sydney

Soft and full strip-outs, taken back to base structure.

A strip-out takes a building back to its bones — removing internal fit-out, finishes and services while leaving the structure intact and ready for the next build. H&R carries out soft and full strip-outs across Sydney for renovations, refurbishments and redevelopment.

Ceilings, partitions, flooring, joinery, mechanical and electrical services, wall linings — we remove it cleanly and methodically, sort and recycle the waste, and leave a tidy shell ready for the next trade.

Soft strip vs full strip

A soft strip removes the non-structural fit-out — fixtures, fittings, finishes and loose services — ready for refurbishment. A full strip goes further, taking the building right back to its base structure, including linings and services. We’ll scope exactly what you need so nothing essential is removed and nothing redundant is left behind.

Either way, the work is planned to protect the structure and any elements that are staying, with dust control and careful handling throughout.

Clean, sorted and recycled

Strip-outs generate a lot of mixed waste. We separate materials on site — metals, timber, plasterboard and general waste — and divert as much as possible from landfill, tracking disposal to EPA requirements.

You get a clean, safe shell handed back on program, with the documentation to match — ready for your fit-out or demolition crew to move straight in.

Strip Out Services Sydney

A strip out removes the internal fit-out of a building, such as linings, ceilings, floor coverings, joinery, fixtures and services, while leaving the structure in place. Strip outs are the first step in most renovations, refurbishments and commercial fit-outs, and they need to be done carefully so the structure and the services that stay are protected. We provide strip out services across Sydney for homes, offices, shops, restaurants and warehouses.

Soft Strip vs Full Strip Out

TypeWhat is removedTypical use
Soft stripFixtures, fittings, joinery, carpet, ceiling tiles and non-structural partitionsRefurbishments, and preparing a building for demolition so materials can be recycled
Full strip outEverything back to the base structure — linings, ceilings, floors and redundant servicesMajor renovations, change of use and end-of-lease make good
Selective strip outSpecific areas or elements only, such as one floor, a kitchen or a bathroomStaged works in occupied buildings and homes

Residential Strip Outs

For renovators and builders, we strip out kitchens, bathrooms, laundries and whole house interiors back to frame, ready for the new work. Older Sydney homes often have asbestos in wet-area sheeting, vinyl flooring and eaves, so we check for it first and remove it under our asbestos licence. That means your renovation does not stall waiting for a separate contractor.

Commercial and Retail Strip Outs

For offices, shops and hospitality venues, we remove partitions, ceilings, joinery, floor coverings, signage and redundant cabling, often after hours and in occupied buildings. For end-of-lease work, see our office strip out and make good service and our tenant’s guide to make good.

How a Strip Out Works

  1. Site inspection and a written scope of what is removed and what stays
  2. Services isolated and made safe by licensed trades
  3. Hazardous materials checked, and asbestos removed if present
  4. Protection installed for floors, lifts, common areas and retained finishes
  5. Strip out carried out with materials separated for recycling
  6. Final clean and handover, with disposal dockets supplied
